Description

Gore Grip technology eliminates movement between the breathable, waterproof GORE-TEX membrane and outer layer. Revit Contrast GTX gloves’ construction combines perforated goatskin leather on the palm with PWR|Shell stretch textile on the reverse. Plus, with Pittards® sheepskin panels on the palms and thumbs, you can rely on outstanding grip, dexterity, and feel to achieve optimum control whatever the conditions.

Motorcycle touring over the summer means longer rides and every chance of sudden downpours, but nothing will dampen your day when you’re wearing Contrast GTX. An array of technical features are there to keep you comfortably dry and fully concentrated on the road ahead, and a pull tab on each wrist will help you quickly remove the glove – not that you’ll need to very often when you’ve got a touchscreen-compatible Connect Finger Tip on your index and thumb.

The Contrast GTX’s gauntlet design incorporates hard-shell and foam that envelops your hands, while Temperfoam® along the fingers, palms, and thumbs provides protection without hindering movement. And when the ride gets tough, a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) palm slider and thumb protector will cut the risk of injury should you come off your motorcycle and your hands hit the deck. Plus, a hook-and-loop closure adds a reassurance to the fit – these gloves look and feel tough and are even tougher not to love.

How waterproof is this item?
GORE-TEX (GTX) is used in motorcycle clothing to protect riders from rain and wind while still allowing the body to breathe. The membrane is fully waterproof and windproof, yet lets perspiration vapor escape, keeping you dry and comfortable, even during long rides or in bad weather. There are several ways a GTX membrane is integrated into motorcycle apparel.

Removable GTX Liner
In garments with a removable GTX liner, the waterproof membrane is separate from the jacket or pants. This offers flexibility, as the liner can be removed in warmer conditions. In the rain, the rider stays dry, but the outer fabric can absorb water, making the garment heavier and colder, and increasing drying time.

Z-Liner GTX
With a fixed Z-liner, the GTX membrane is permanently placed between the inner lining and the outer shell. This system offers greater convenience since nothing needs to be removed. However, similar to a removable liner, the outer fabric can still become saturated during rain.

Laminated GTX
With laminated GTX, the membrane is directly bonded to the outer fabric. This prevents the material from absorbing water, causing rain to bead off the surface. The result is a lighter garment that dries faster and cools less in wet conditions. Laminated GORE-TEX is often chosen by riders who commute daily or frequently ride in changing weather conditions. Because this construction is less flexible, effective ventilation is essential for comfort on warm days.

Laminated 2-Layer and 3-Layer
Within laminated GTX, a distinction is made between 2-layer (2L) and 3-layer (3L) constructions. In 2-layer GTX, the membrane is laminated to the outer fabric and protected by a separate inner lining. In 3-layer GTX, the membrane is permanently bonded to both the outer fabric and the inner lining. This prevents layer movement, reduces wear, and increases durability, especially during intensive use.
