The Alpinestars Therma-Tech WP motorcycle jacket is designed for riders who need reliable protection and comfort throughout the colder months. Combining a sporty commuter-inspired fit with practical touring features, this waterproof* motorcycle jacket delivers excellent performance for everyday riding and weekend trips alike.
Its softshell construction offers flexibility and comfort, while the welded insulated panels help retain body heat without adding unnecessary bulk. A fixed waterproof membrane keeps rain on the outside, allowing you to continue riding comfortably when the weather changes.
For added versatility, the Therma Tech features a removable full-sleeve thermal liner with 100g insulation around the body and 80g in the sleeves. This allows you to easily adapt the jacket to changing temperatures. The winter collar and integrated hood provide extra protection off the bike, while the hood can be securely folded away and stabilised during riding to prevent flapping at speed.
Safety is equally well covered. Flexible Nucleon Flex Plus Level 1 shoulder and elbow protectors absorb impacts while maintaining excellent freedom of movement. The jacket is also Tech-Air® Ready, allowing compatibility with Alpinestars' airbag systems, and is CE Certified to Class A.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
