The Alpinestars Mustang WP motorcycle jacket combines workwear-inspired styling with the protection and functionality you need on the road. Made from Flex AST stretch twill, it offers a natural look and feel while providing excellent stretch for comfortable movement and an easy fit.
A fixed waterproof membrane* helps keep wet weather out, making this a practical waterproof motorcycle jacket for changing conditions. When temperatures drop, the detachable 120g thermal vest adds extra warmth and can be removed quickly as conditions improve. This makes it easy to adapt the jacket throughout the year.
Comfort is further enhanced by the velour corduroy shirt collar, complete with a winter flap for additional protection against cold and wind. A shoulder gusset increases mobility, giving you greater freedom of movement both on and off the bike. For everyday practicality, the jacket features an internal waterproof compartment and a keyless/Telepass pocket.
Protection comes from Level 1 Nucleon Flex Plus shoulder and elbow protectors, while the jacket is Tech-Air® Readyand can be upgraded with compatible Alpinestars back and chest protection. CE certified to Class A, the Mustang WP delivers a versatile balance of style, comfort and motorcycle protection.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
Choose a Level 1 or Level 2 back protector. Level 2 has a higher impact value than Level 1.
