From the outside the REV'IT Triomphe 2 H2O motorcycle jacket is clearly based on the fundamental, archetype field jacket design. However, on the inside, it is a fully equipped, highly technical, and protective three-season urban commuter motorcycle garment. Remove the detachable, thermal liner – which can be done in the blink of an eye – and you’ll end up with a highly tear-resistant outer shell thanks to the polyamide PWR|Shell 2L fabric, and a waterproof* construction that also incorporates the comfortable, lightweight, and ventilated SEESMART CE-level 1 armor at the elbows and shoulders.
There’s also an pouch, ready to accommodate an additional SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector in case you’re looking for an upgrade. Inside as well as outside there are ample waterproof pockets to keep personal items close. The motorcycle jacket has a dark reflective logo on the upper arm and reflective lamination on the inside arm for extra visibility.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
