To preserve your batteries and increase their lifespan, it is recommended not to fully discharge the batteries. Make sure to store the batteries in a cool place between 5°C and 20°C. Batteries should not be connected to the gloves or the charger during storage.
Periods of prolonged non-use may damage the batteries. In case of non-use for more than 2 months, it is important to store the batteries (disconnected) with a charge level between 50% and 75%. During storage, please check the battery charge level and, if necessary, recharge. (Tip: write it down in your diary.)
Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
