The Alpinestars Tourer W-7 V2 Drystar glove is a warm, insulated, winter glove designed for long range riding under any conditions and the perfect glove for touring riders braving the cold. With a compact construction to fit inside or over the jacket cuff, the Tourer W-7 V2 has a unique single operation closure system including a wrist strap and cuff flap closure that tightens and secures both at the same time.
Featuring a stretch Nyspan and ripstop polyamide shell upper with a conductive leather palm and synthetic suede for reinforcement, plus a Drystar® waterproof and breathable membrane, the W-7 V2 blends great materials together for a comfortable and weather-proof construction. Adding further weatherproofing and protection, the Tourer W-7 V2 Drystar® Glove includes compact 120g Thinsulate insulation to keep the rider’s hands warm all the way with the most critical extremities. The Tourer W-7 V2 Drystar® Glove also features the new covered SP Lite knuckle.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
