The Alpinestars Corozal Adventure Drystar Oiled is a high motorcycle boot with a rugged adventure look. Its full grain oiled leather construction gives the boot its distinctive appearance, while abrasion resistant microfiber accordion panels provide extra freedom of movement.
For wet conditions, Alpinestars uses a Drystar membrane*. This makes the boot waterproof and suitable for changing weather conditions. The boot is non ventilated, making it less suitable for the hottest summer days.
Protection is provided around several key areas. A reinforced ankle brace system on the outside of the foot helps prevent excessive lateral ankle movement. Plastic protectors are positioned around the ankles, shin, toe and heel.
Two plastic buckles and a Velcro closure make the boot easy to secure. Once adjusted, the quick release buckles allow you to open and close the boot efficiently. Underfoot, a special rubber compound provides a combination of grip and comfort. A metal shank inside the sole adds extra rigidity.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
