Its abrasion-resistant Cordura polyester outer shell is reinforced with Ripstop in key impact zones, providing strong slide protection without unnecessary weight. Integrated Richa ACS ventilation panels on the chest can be opened with zippers to regulate airflow, keeping you cool when temperatures rise.
When the weather turns, the fixed Richa LTZ waterproof membrane forms a reliable barrier against rain and wind, while the removable thermal liner adds insulation for colder rides. This makes the Taurus a true all-round motorcycle jacket for spring, autumn, and variable summer conditions.
For safety, the jacket is equipped with D3O® Level 1 protectors at the shoulders and elbows, and is fully prepared for optional D3O back and chest protectors for riders who want to upgrade their impact protection. Reflective details improve visibility in low-light traffic.
Comfort is enhanced with a soft neoprene finish at the cuffs and hem, adjustable waist straps for a tailored fit, and multiple practical storage options including three large outer pockets and a Napoleon pocket. Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
