The Janika Lady motorcycle jacket is made of a polyester 500D and 300D wear-resistant material that together provides a lightweight motorcycle jacket. CE level 1 protectors have been added on the shoulders and elbows. Where you optionally have the opportunity to provide it with a CE certified back protector. The long connection zipper makes it possible to combine it with the motorcycle pants of the same name.
The waterproof Hitex layer provides a basic level of protection against rain. Moreover, it is removable so that it does not get in the way in warmer conditions. In combination with the removable thermal lining, the 3-layer construction is excellent to be trusted all year round.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
