Made of Mugello stretch fabric, the Dainese Mangen Absøluteshell Pro is the motorcycle jacket designed for adventure touring use for both road and dirt riding. The presence of the Absøluteshell Pro membrane, bonded to the fabric, makes this garment dry more quickly. The combination of the membrane with the air vents on the chest, back and sleeves and the removable thermal lining makes this jacket extremely versatile in different weather conditions, ensuring maximum comfort, in both winter and temperate weather.
The protective level of this garment, certified according to EN 17092 Class AA and equipped with Pro-Armor protectors certified according to EN 1621.1 Level 2 on the elbows and shoulders, can be further increased not only through the pockets for housing the type G back protector and the Pro-Armor Chest 2 pcs chest protector, but also compatibility with wearing over the Smart Air airbag device, designed for correct fit with and without the airbag worn internally, taking advantage of the stretch construction and the bellows on the back. This feature relieves of the need to purchase one size up, with the risk of having the sleeves too wide and elbow and shoulder protectors not in the correct position. Reflective inserts for greater active safety with poor visibility complete the equipment.
This textile motorcycle jacket has four waterproof front pockets, one back cargo pocket, one inside lining pocket and one in the detachable thermal jacket. Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
