The GMS Baserunner WP motorcycle trousers combine weather protection, comfort and practical features for everyday motorcycle use. The GERMATEX® Z Liner climate membrane makes the trousers waterproof*, windproof and breathable, while the thermal lining adds warmth when temperatures drop.
For protection, the Baserunner WP features Level 2 protectors at the knees and hips. The knee protectors are height adjustable, allowing you to position them correctly for a comfortable fit. Both the knee and hip protectors are removable and EN 1621 1:2012 certified. The trousers themselves are certified according to EN 17092 3:2020, Class AA.
Stretch panels at the knees and seat provide extra freedom of movement. The waist can be adjusted with a hook and loop closure, while the leg cuffs feature hook and loop adjustment and a zipper. An anti slip panel at the seat helps provide extra grip.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
