The Dainese Tempest 4 D-Dry motorcycle trousers are made for year-round touring, combining waterproofing*, adaptable comfort and dependable protection in one versatile pair of motorcycle trousers. The waterproof and breathable D-Dry® membrane* helps keep rain and wind out, while the removable thermal layer provides additional insulation when temperatures drop. When the weather warms up, the zippered thigh vents allow you to manage airflow more effectively.
Protection comes from adjustable Pro-Armor level 2 knee protectors, which can be positioned to suit your riding position. The trousers are also prepared for Pro-Armor hip protectors (sold seperately), giving you the option to increase protection further. Reflective inserts improve visibility in low-light conditions, while the trousers are certified to EN 17092 Class A.
For a comfortable fit, adjustable panels at the waist and ankles let you fine-tune the trousers to your body and your motorcycle boots. The bielastic fabric provides stretch where freedom of movement is important, while reinforced areas help withstand wear during regular use. Two outer pockets keep essential items within easy reach, and the jacket-to-trousers fastening system allows you to connect the trousers to a compatible Dainese jacket for a more integrated touring setup.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
