Designed for the female touring riders out there, the Alpinestars Stella RT-7 Drystar Boots, are built from the foundation of the well-known CR-X Shoe, designed for excellent walking comfort and proven protection performance thanks to the Alpinestars TPF transversal protection frame mid sole. The Stella RT-7 Drystar ladies motorcycle boot evolves the upper with a uniquely stylish double-zip opening with lateral and medial elasticated panels with two Velcro strap adjusters for great ease of use when it comes to putting on and taking off the boots. Constructed with an advanced microfiber upper with soft textile inserts, a Drystar® waterproof and breathable membrane, and TPU film reinforcements, the Stella RT-7 Boots are ready for whatever weather they encounter.
For additional support and protection, the Stella RT-7 features internal malleolus and shin impact protection, plus a reinforced heel counter and toe box. Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
