The Alpinestars SMX-S WP motorcycle boots combine a sporty design with waterproof performance, protection and comfort. The durable microfiber upper construction remains flexible, while the waterproof and breathable membrane makes the boots suitable for changing weather conditions.
For protection, the SMX-S WP features an ergonomically shaped TPU shin plate with impact and abrasion resistance. Double density TPU ankle protectors reinforce both the lateral and medial sides, while the TPR ankle support adds stability. The toe area is also reinforced, and a replaceable bi injected TPU toe slider adds extra protection.
The ergonomic last streamlines the forefoot, giving you more precision when operating the motorcycle controls. A medial zip with a wide Velcro closure creates a secure fit and makes the boots easier to put on and take off.
Underfoot, the removable anatomical footbed combines EVA and Lycra for support and comfort. The compound rubber sole provides grip, feel, water dispersion and durability. The Alpinestars SMX-S WP is CE certified.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
