The Hyde XT Drystar®XF Jacket is engineered for heavy off-road and/or dual sport side of the adventure touring category.
The Hyde XT Drystar®XF Jacket is engineered for heavy off-road and/or dual sport side of the adventure touring category. Featuring an extremely lightweight four-way stretch, single layer waterproof outer shell main construction, the Hyde XT Drystar®XF Jacket is reinforced with ripstop nylon on the external arms and shoulders for high levels of durability.
As its name would suggest, the Hyde XT has a laminated Drystar®XF (XF for extra flow) waterproof and highly breathable membrane for excellent wet weather performance. The laminated breathable and waterproof* Drystar®XF membrane is of critical benefit to motorcyclists riding in the wet because it makes the jacket super compact and keeps it very lightweight. The advantage of Drystar®XF is that it doesn’t allow any water to penetrate or soak into or through the shell, as the membrane keep the jacket from getting waterlogged and heavy and protects the rider from the elements as well as prevents windchill, all while simultaneously allowing the fabric to breathe.
The Hyde XT is adaptable to the climate, with its long direct ventilation ports on each side at the front and back, zippered air scoops on the forearms, and the Super-airflow panel on the front zipper opening which provides lots of ventilation and breathability when the weather gets warm. Internally, the Hyde XT has a detachable armored inner mesh jacket which is zippered in with Nucleon Flex Plus CE Level 1 rated protectors.
Since the Hyde XT has a heavier focus and potential for off-road riding, the inner mesh jacket is designed to keep the armor close to the rider’s body for ultimate comfort and protection, eliminating any movement restriction linked to the outer shell and armor interaction when muscling a bike off-road. The inner armored mesh jacket is also completely upgradeable to level 2 Nucleon Flex Pro armor and is Tech-Air® Ready to accommodate the Tech-Air® 5 for the ultimate in rider protection.

* A waterproof membrane does not mean unlimited waterproof. The waterproofness depends on the quality of the membrane. Are you looking for 100% waterproof? Then select a motorcycle jacket with GoreTex membrane.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
