Designed for the most extreme adventure explorers.
Designed for the most extreme adventure explorers, the Boulder 3L GTX motorcycle pants feature a new comfort fit with a pre-curved pattern derived from motocross, a 3L laminated Gore-Tex construction for perfect waterproofing and breathability, and direct ventilation ports for climate control. The Boulder Pants are the pinnacle of Alpinestars hard-adventure pants.
Constructed from premium durable materials including a 3L Gore-Tex main shell, with a 3L reinforced GORE-TEX shell in the seat, the pants also incorporate 2L Gore-Tex stretch material in the crotch, above the knees, and behind the knees. Reinforcing the knees further are Superfabric ceramic plate inserts for ultra-durability and abrasion resistance, while at the same time maintaining flex and breathability. In addition, the pants have leather and ballistic nylon reinforcements on the inner knee and lower inner leg. Other features include CE Level 2 knee armor as well as a magnetic buckle waist closure and waterproof ergonomic cargo pockets.
The Boulder 3L GTX trousers pattern incorporates pre-curved waist and knees derived from motocross development to provide perfect mobility and comfort for off-road riders who experience many transitions of standing up and sitting on the bike. With a wide pant leg, the pants easily fit over MX boots such as the Tech 7 Drystar® Boots. Together, the Boulder 3L GORE-TEX jacket and pants are the perfect outfit for riders ready to travel the world in the most extreme weather conditions and over the toughest terrains. The Boulder Gore-Tex pants are ultra-rugged and durable.

Removable GTX Liner
In garments with a removable GTX liner, the waterproof membrane is separate from the jacket or pants. This offers flexibility, as the liner can be removed in warmer conditions. In the rain, the rider stays dry, but the outer fabric can absorb water, making the garment heavier and colder, and increasing drying time.
Z-Liner GTX
With a fixed Z-liner, the GTX membrane is permanently placed between the inner lining and the outer shell. This system offers greater convenience since nothing needs to be removed. However, similar to a removable liner, the outer fabric can still become saturated during rain.
Laminated GTX
With laminated GTX, the membrane is directly bonded to the outer fabric. This prevents the material from absorbing water, causing rain to bead off the surface. The result is a lighter garment that dries faster and cools less in wet conditions. Laminated GORE-TEX is often chosen by riders who commute daily or frequently ride in changing weather conditions. Because this construction is less flexible, effective ventilation is essential for comfort on warm days.
Laminated 2-Layer and 3-Layer
Within laminated GTX, a distinction is made between 2-layer (2L) and 3-layer (3L) constructions. In 2-layer GTX, the membrane is laminated to the outer fabric and protected by a separate inner lining. In 3-layer GTX, the membrane is permanently bonded to both the outer fabric and the inner lining. This prevents layer movement, reduces wear, and increases durability, especially during intensive use.
