Fit adjustment is paramount in any adventure-ready jacket, and the Outback 5 H2O is no exception. From the integrated waist-belt adjuster to buttoned and hook-and-loop tabs at the arms, plus drawcords along the hem, this jacket allows for free and comfortable movement on the bike while ensuring a secure fit. Speaking of security: top-tier CE-level 2 SEEFLEX protectors are integrated at both the shoulders and elbows, with the option to upgrade impact protection with a CE-level 2 SEESOFT back protector and divided SEESOFT (CE-level 1) chest protectors. Additional safety measures include strategically positioned reflective elements to ensure visibility in all conditions.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
