Your footwear can absorb water just because it is dirty. First try cleaning with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel™. If it has been fairly new or recently re-waterproofed, the long-lasting water repellency (DWR) will already be restored with a wash. However, if the footwear is worn heavily, you will need to add DWR with Nikwax Waterproofing Wax for Leather™.

It provides instant long-lasting water repellency (DWR), maintains breathability and replenishes leather tanning agents. It is non-flammable and does not contain harmful solvents, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and fluorocarbons. Nikwax Waterproofing Wax for Leather™ is specially designed and optimized for smooth leather footwear. The water-based formula targets leak spots, can be used on wet or dry leather and doesn't soften it too much.
