Motorcycle rain pants are an outer layer: they keep out water and wind, but don't provide abrasion resistance or impact protection on their own. EN 17092 classes (A, AA and AAA) and certified knee and hip protectors apply to the motorcycle pants or motorcycle jeans worn underneath. Always wear rain pants over proper protective motorcycle gear, never over regular jeans.
Do you mainly commute? A lightweight pair of rain pants that's quick to put on and features side zippers is the most practical option; simply keep them with you at all times. For long touring rides, choose a more durable model with taped seams and a roomier cut that fits comfortably over adventure gear. For sporty riding, a closer-fitting race cut feels more comfortable on the bike.
Complete your rain gear with overgloves and boot covers; wet hands and feet can ruin a ride faster than wet legs. For your luggage, a dry bag or rain cover is the logical addition.

Motorcycle rain pants are worn over your motorcycle pants. Thanks to elasticated sections and adjustable or zippered legs, you can easily pull them on over your motorcycle boots.
A good pair of motorcycle rain pants will keep your legs dry and comfortable during heavy showers. However, no pair of pants is completely and indefinitely waterproof during prolonged, heavy rain. Look for details such as sealed seams and adjustable legs, which help keep water out.
Because rain pants are designed to be worn over your motorcycle gear, you can often choose the same size as your motorcycle pants. They should be roomy enough to pull on easily without being so loose that they flap in the wind. If you're unsure, check the sizing information on the product page or visit our store to try them on.
