The LS2 Axel motorcycle jacket combines a casual look with the technical features you need for everyday motorcycle riding. Its outer shell is made from a stretch softshell laminated with Sheltex®*, giving the jacket a flexible feel while providing a practical barrier against changing weather conditions.
A laminated Sheltex® waterproof liner* provides 8,000 mm water resistance and 8,000 g/m²/24h breathability, helping you stay protected from rain without making the jacket feel unnecessarily bulky. Inside, the graphene lining adds to the comfortable feel of the jacket.
For protection, the LS2 Axel comes with removable CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow protectors. The elbow protectors can be positioned at two different heights for a more precise fit. The jacket is also compatible with an optional chest protector and back protector, allowing you to upgrade its protection (sold seperately).
Practicality is where the LS2 Axel adds extra value. Multiple pockets provide plenty of storage, including dual-function inner pockets that can accommodate chest protectors or smaller essentials. The hood can be secured and rolled up when not in use, while the belt connection loop helps keep the jacket in place. Reflective strips improve visibility in low-light conditions, and subtle ventilation at the chest and rear supports airflow.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
