The Alpinestars Cusco Drystar® motorcycle trousers are engineered for riders who need adaptable, two-season motorcycle trousers for spring and summer touring. Lightweight yet durable, they combine advanced weather protection with excellent mobility, making them ideal for adventure riding, commuting and long-distance road trips.
The chassis is constructed from a hard-wearing ripstop and 600D polyfabric blend, delivering strong abrasion resistance without unnecessary weight. Stretch softshell panels at the back yoke and behind the knees enhance flexibility, ensuring unrestricted movement both in the riding position and when off the bike. Reinforced inner leg panels with dobby weaving increase durability in high-contact areas.
Climate control is where these adventure motorcycle trousers truly stand out. Large, adjustable direct ventilation panels on the front thighs can be fully opened for maximum airflow in hot conditions. When temperatures drop or rain sets in, simply close the vents and insert the removable Drystar® windproof and waterproof* membrane. With a 7,000 mm waterproof rating and 15,000 g/m²/24h breathability, the membrane keeps rain out while allowing moisture vapour to escape. It can be worn internally or externally and packs neatly into its integrated storage bag.
Protection is equally impressive. Nucleon Flex Pro CE Level 2 knee and hip protectors provide advanced impact absorption, exceeding standard CE requirements. The trousers are fully CE-certified to AA class, offering reliable protection for touring and everyday riding.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
