The Dainese Tempest 4 D-Dry is a versatile road touring motorcycle jacket designed for year-round use, from everyday journeys to longer rides in changing weather conditions. It combines reliable protection with practical features and comfort for both daily riding and touring.
The waterproof and breathable D-Dry® membrane* provides effective protection from rain, while the removable thermal lining ensures good insulation during colder seasons and greater versatility in the transitional seasons. When temperatures rise, the two air vents on the chest allow you to manage airflow, helping to maintain a good level of comfort during warmer periods.
For protection, the Tempest 4 D-Dry jacket features Pro-Armor level 2 protectors on the shoulders and elbows. The jacket is also prepared for a back protector and ches protectors (sold seperately). Its construction also allows it to be worn over the Smart Air™ airbag system for additional protection.
Comfort and fit can be adjusted to suit your riding position, with adjustable panels at the waist, sleeves, cuffs and neck. Bielastic stretch inserts provide additional freedom of movement, while the jacket-to-trousers fastening system helps create a secure connection with your motorcycle trousers.
Practical storage comes from two waterproof outer pockets, a waterproof inner pocket and a rear cargo pocket. Reflective inserts improve visibility in low-light conditions, making the Tempest 4 D-Dry a dependable choice for everyday riding and longer road tours.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
