The Alpinestars MO.ST.EQ (Moto Streetwear Equipment) Field Waterproof Primaloft Jacket blends contemporary iconic streetwear style with premium material innovation creating a jackt engineered to ride. The MO.ST.EQ is a unique new design approach for the 2024 Collection deeply aligned with Alpinestars’ racing DNA. Featuring a lightweight ripstop main material construction with a built in waterproof membrane, the stylish MO.ST.EQ. Field is a highly functional multi-season jacket with great climate adaptability to meet the demands of urban riders both on and off the bike. The jacket has a removable thermal vest which itself is a stylish garment with a bomber style collar and practical pockets that can be worn on its own. The vest is made from 100% recycled 170g PrimaLoft® insulation material. For protection, the MO.ST.EQ Field Jacket has CE Level 1 rated Nucleon Flex Plus armor, which is externally removable on the elbows.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
