A lightweight waterproof motorcycle shoe with a casual sneaker look, combining leather construction, strategic protection and everyday comfort.
The Alpinestars J-6 WP combines the casual look of a street sneaker with the construction and protection of a motorcycle shoe. Its lightweight upper construction combines full grain leather and suede, while the waterproof membrane provides protection against wet weather.
For protection, Alpinestars uses dual density, MX derived ankle and heel protectors. Internal reinforcement around the toe and heel adds further structural support. A reinforced midsole also improves strength and durability without taking away from the casual design.
Comfort is equally important. Padding around the tongue and heel creates a comfortable fit around the ankle and instep. The anatomically shaped EVA and Lycra footbed provides additional support and can be removed and replaced. Metal eyelets make it easy to adjust the laces for a secure fit.
Underneath, an advanced rubber compound cup sole provides grip, stability and support. Combined with its sneaker inspired styling, the J-6 WP works as a practical motorcycle shoe both on and off the bike.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
