The Alpinestars Hyde XT Stretch Drystar®XF Pants are engineered for heavy off-road and dual-sport adventure touring. Crafted with a waterproof* and ultra-lightweight four-way stretch monolayer outer shell, these pants offer exceptional flexibility and durability. The ripstop nylon reinforcements on the seat and key exposed areas ensure long-lasting protection in rugged conditions.
Designed with Alpinestars’ advanced Drystar®XF membrane, these pants provide superior wet weather performance. The Drystar®XF technology offers up to 3x better waterproofing* (15,000mm - 20,000mm water column) and 50% more breathability compared to standard membranes. This ensures the pants stay lightweight and dry, even in heavy rain, while preventing windchill and allowing for optimal breathability.
For enhanced rider comfort, the Hyde XT features adjustable Nucleon Flex Plus knee protection, which is CE Level 1 certified. These protectors are highly flexible, breathable, and provides excellent impact protection with a slim profile. The ergonomic design includes stretch inserts on the waist, behind the knees, and in the crotch gusset, allowing for a perfect fit and freedom of movement.
Additional features include diagonal zippered thigh vents with an inner hook-and-loop system for continuous airflow and cooling, and waterproof zippered cargo pockets for secure storage. The over-the-boot design ensures compatibility with various boots, and the adjustable protection allows for a customised fit.

Motorcycle gear comes in various levels of waterproofness, which is important for comfort and safety during wet rides. Most waterproof jackets, pants, gloves, and footwear have a membrane that prevents water from penetrating the outer layer. These products keep you dry, but there's a limit to how much they can penetrate. A waterproof membrane doesn't mean 100% waterproof. With prolonged exposure to rain or under high pressure, the outer layer can still let moisture through. This means you could get wet after longer rides in heavy rain, especially in areas where the fabric moves intensively or where seams are less well-protected.
Looking for 100% waterproof? Then choose a product with a Gore-Tex membrane. Gore-Tex is a specially designed membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are too small for water droplets to penetrate, but large enough to allow water vapor (sweat) to escape. This keeps rain and spray out, while your body heat and moisture are wicking away. You will ride dry and comfortable, even in prolonged or heavy rain.
In short: regular waterproof motorcycle clothing keeps out short(er) rainshowers, while Gore-Tex effectively protects against prolonged rain and at the same time provides breathable comfort.
